Police initially reported that only a leg, which the crew had seen sticking out from beneath a blue tarp, had been found, but today said that investigators had excavated an entire body.

Neither the cause of the woman's death nor her identity has been determined, and though homicide investigators are participating in the investigation, it has not yet been ruled the result of foul play, police spokesman Sgt. Wilfred Williams said.

Williams added that it was not known for how long the body had been buried.

The gruesome find was made at about 10:30 a.m. Monday near Sunnydale and Persia avenues on the western side of the park.
