The CHP says it started in San Francisco on the Central Freeway at about 9:45 Thursday night and didn't end until just before 12:30 in Santa Rosa on Calistoga Road when police spun the suspect's car out.

Witnesses say police put out road strips to flatten the car's tires.

Officials say it began when an officer tried to stop the driver for speeding and doing an unsafe lane change. The CHP says the driver refused to stop and took officers on the chase -- which went over the Bay Bridge across the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge and up Interstate 101 into Sonoma County.
