CA to get federal funding for high speed rail

The state has applied for stimulus money for the 800-mile train that would run from San Diego to Sacramento at speeds of up to 220 miles an hour.

Assembly Speaker Karen Bass says California could qualify to receive billions of dollars as soon as this Fall, and that's money that would be used for engineering and environmental work.
