Energy rebates could save CA $35M

U.S. Energy Secretary Stephen Chu announced that Californians stand to receive $35 million in rebates for the purchase of new energy-efficient appliances.

The rebates will go toward the purchase of air conditioners, furnaces, clothes washers, dish washers, freezers, refrigerators and water heaters.

Chu says the program will help families become more energy-efficient and, at the same time, stimulate the economy and create jobs.
