Congresswoman Jackie Speier attended the Crisis to Recovery Resource Fair. It was open to anyone living in the 12th Congressional District, which spans from the Sunset District to as far south as Redwood City.
Speier says this type of free work-shop is sorely needed.
"There are thousands upon of thousands of homeowners in San Francisco around the Bay Area who are upside down on their loans right and it is so complicated to try and move through the process, so we're trying to cut through the red tape get the homeowner connected with the lender and try and get their refinance or modification addressed," said Speier.
Speier says people can also call their local legislator, because her office has worked in the past as the go-between the homeowner and the bank.
