Muni cameras not working during crash

The outside cameras at the West Portal Station showed several different angles of the exact moment the crash happened, injuring nearly 50 people on July 18.

But according to the San Francisco Chronicle, /*Muni*/ officials confirm the cameras don't work inside 20 or so light rail vehicles.

They were purchased from an Italian company back in the 1990's. Muni officials blame a contracting problem. But some senior transit managers are furious the cameras were never fixed.
