Sheriff Gary Stanton and District Attorney David Paulson announced Aaron Janes, a 29-year-old Vacaville man, was arrested at the Solano County Jail Claybank Facility and was booked on eight counts of insurance fraud.

Janes allegedly made a claim to the county in which he said he was injured in a struggle with an inmate. An investigation revealed Janes had been treated for that injury by his personal doctor two days before reporting the workers' compensation claim to the county, according to the sheriff's office.

Janes, whose bail was set at $7,500, faces up to five years in state prison and a $50,000 in fines if convicted.
