The Moreland Elementary School District owns the acre and a half property, where dozens of domestic rabbits have been breeding for over a decade.

Someone has come forward to pay the liability insurance that will allow rescuers to trap rabbits on the property.

The rabbit population has grown rapidly and rescuers say people are breaking in and shooting and killing the rabbits with pellet guns, or letting their dogs hunt them down.
