SF $6.5 billion budget unbalanced again

One day after San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom signed a balanced, $6.5 billion budget, it's unbalanced once again.

That's after finding out the state of California could be taking an estimated $146 million from the city -- instead of the $18 million that was budgeted for.

That new estimate comes from the city controller's Preliminary State Revenue Impact Report.

Once the exact figure is nailed down, Mayor Newsom and city supervisors will have up to three weeks to figure out how to make up the difference.
