Arthur Webb, 51, was booked into the Sonoma County Jail for auto and boat theft and a violation of probation.

Sgt. Ed Hoener said two sheriff's deputies patrolling the Sonoma Coast on Thursday afternoon saw two men in an aluminum fishing boat near Timber Cove.

Their investigation determined the boat and a trailer parked on shore nearby had been stolen in Santa Rosa in 2007, Hoener said.

The boat and trailer were stored until the victim could be notified, Hoener said.

The second man in the boat was released pending further investigation.
