The City Hall ceremony included all the pomp and circumstance missing from Chief George Gascon's private swearing in, two weeks ago.

Among those in attendance was outgoing Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton -- Gascon's former boss.

/*Gascon*/ delivered part of his acceptance speech in Spanish, to thank his parents. He is from Cuba and is San Francisco's second Latino police chief.
