The Hayward Police Department received calls at about 12:24 a.m. of shots fired in the 900 block of Torrano Avenue, Hayward police Lt. Chris Orrey said.
Upon arrival, police found a man in his 20s with fatal gunshot wounds, Orrey said.
She said the victim was found outside, in a public area near an apartment complex. His name has not yet been released.
