Superior Court Judge Terrence Van Oss on Monday set a Feb. 1 trial date for Michael Schumacher, his wife, Kelly Lau, Caren Ramirez, and Anthony Waiters. Van Oss says the trial will last about two months.

The four were indicted by a grand jury in March on aggravated mayhem, torture and false imprisonment of a 16-year-old Kyle Ramirez.

Authorities say Kyle escaped from the couple's home in Tracy by unlocking an ankle chain and stumbling emaciated and bruised into a health club in December.

Attorneys representing the four defendants say they plan on challenging the indictment.

The judge set a date for Nov. 9 to hear the arguments.
