A new study found Natrova was twice as effective at getting rid of lice because it also targets the eggs. The current treatment requires parents to not only wash their children's hair with a special shampoo, but also comb through their hair and remove each individual egg.

FDA approval for Natrova is still pending.

The study is published in the Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
