Big-rig spills clunkers onto Highway 4

The crash happened shortly after 4:40 a.m. on Highway 4 near the connector ramp to southbound state Highway 242, CHP Officer Jeff Serena said.

The big-rig driver was transporting the crushed cars to an auto recycling plant when he lost control and crashed, leaving the big-rig jackknifed, Serena said.

No one was injured, he said.

Cleanup crews were still at the scene at 9 a.m. removing some of the crushed vehicles, which have all been moved to the road's right shoulder.
