Cal State students and faculty protest cuts

Students and faculty rallied against budget cuts today, at all 23 Cal State university campuses.

Demonstrators at San Jose State say the cuts mean fewer and larger classes. They're also protesting an under-grad fee increase of $160 a year, bringing the cost of registration to nearly $2,500.

Students are now paying 30 percent more for fewer hours of education.

"And that's why we're here today because I know you're angry, I'm angry, the faculty is angry. The governor, not so much," said

"I've got 40-50 students I can't serve because we don't have enough money," said

Cal State has also imposed nine mandatory faculty furlough days that will cost instructors about nine percent of their salaries.
