Hospitals prep to treat lots of flu patients

Hospitals across the country are taking major steps to help deal with a higher than expected increase of the swine flu.

In Texas and Tennessee, demand is so great that special tents have been set up outside of some hospitals.

The goal is to try to get cases of the H1N1 virus identified and treated as fast as possible.

"They are very quickly asked what brings you to Le Bonheur, they are brought into a parking area and critical medical info is taken, then they are given directions on whether or not they need to proceed into the emergency room," Dr. William May of Le Bonheur Medical Center said.

What makes this recent rise in swine flu cases particularly troubling is the fact that the traditional flu season normally does not start for another couple months.
