Demonstrators rallied outside the Alameda County district attorney's office Wednesday.

They're protesting a motion filed by the attorney for former BART Officer Johannes Meserle to move his murder trial away from the county.

The defense is worried pre-trial publicity over the shooting death of unarmed BART passenger Oscar Grant has tainted the potential jury pool.

"That's completely racist. That is implying, or that is saying that black people in Oakland, and that Oakland here is not capable of rendering a just decision," said Yvette Felarca from the group By Any Means Necessary.

The county district attorney's office is under a gag order and was not able to comment on Wednesday's rally, or the change of venue motion. That motion is scheduled to be heard in court one week from Friday.
