Middle school students hit by car

Two 13-year-old girls were were hit by a vehicle near Pleasant Hill Middle School Monday morning, according to Pleasant Hill police.

The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. near Oak Park Boulevard and Eccleston Avenue, about a block from the middle school.

The girls were crossing the street in the crosswalk when they were struck.

Both girls were taken to John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek with non-life threatening injuries.
