Bay Area cities among most expensive

A new survey finds that three Bay Area cities are among the most expensive places to live in the nation.

Palo Alto, San Francisco and San Mateo all rank in the top 10.

La Jolla, Calif. was number one.

Coldwell Banker released its annual home price comparison index Friday.

Meantime, the most affordable place to live in the U.S. is Grayling, Michigan. The average home price there is $112,000.

The survey says there is a price gap of more than $2 million between the most expensive and most affordable U.S. housing markets.
