Recipe:
Organic Pumpkin Men
- 6 cups organic rye flour
- 3 cups organic barley flour
- 1/2 cup all natural pumpkin (NOT the pumpkin pie filling)
- 1 teaspoon organic cinnamon
Organic Egg Glaze
- 1 organic egg
- 1 teaspoon water
- Mix ingredients together, and brush on top of treats.
Heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix all ingredients together. Roll out dough on floured board to desired thickness (generally 1/8" for crispier treats, or 1/4" which is a bit thicker and will yield softer treats.) Using cookie cutters or a knife to make your own design, cut dough into shapes, and place on lightly greased cookie tray. Glaze treats with the organic egg glaze. Place tray in preheated oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until golden.When cool, feel them to make sure they are completely baked, they should feel hard to the touch once they cool. If they are soft, put them back into the oven for a few more minutes. Recipe makes approx 85 4" pumpkin men. The y will store for a year if stored in a cool, dry place. These treats do not require refrigeration.
