October 23, 2009 12:00:00 AM PDT
It was 11 years ago this month when the world heard about the heartbreaking and horrific murder of Matthew Shepard. But long before this terrible hate crime that took his life and made him a household name in the arena of gay rights, Matthew was simply Judy Shepard's son. His life is described in her new book, "The Meaning of Matthew: My Son's Murder in Laramie, and a World Transformed."
