The Cathedral Hill Hotel on Van Ness will be accepting its last guests this Sunday, ahead of its shutdown a week from tomorrow.

The Cathedral used to be the Jack Tar hotel, one of the city's most popular places to stay.

The building won't be sitting idle for long, as it will be transformed into a 555-bed acute care facility run by Cal-Pacific Medical Center.
