In 2005, a judge issued an injunction blocking a plan to add 34 miles of new bike lanes, and thousands of new bike racks to San Francisco streets.

The injunction came in a lawsuit filed by critics who said the plan needed an environmental impact study.

That study was completed this summer. On Monday, the city attorney will ask the judge to remove the injunction so work can begin immediately.
