Units responded to a call reporting multiple gunshots heard in the 900 block of Cherry Street at around 1:45 a.m., according to the Vallejo Police Department.
Arriving officers found 19-year-old Ivan Orozco in a car suffering numerous gunshot wounds, police reported. Fire and medical personnel pronounced the Vallejo man dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation indicates Orozco was the victim of an attempted robbery, according to police. Witnesses reported seeing three men wearing hoodies running from the area after the shooting.
