Babies cry in native accent

According to a study done in Germany and France, newborns cry in their native accent.

French infants ended their cries with a lilt typically heard in French.

German babies started their cries intensely and dropped off at the end -- much like the emphasis of their native language.

Researchers say it may mean newborns can use and process what they hear in the womb.
