A Caltrain struck what appears to be a vacant vehicle on the tracks south of the Blossom Hill station in San Jose tonight, a Caltrain spokeswoman said.

The crash happened at about 6:55 p.m. on the tracks near Palm Street and there were no injuries to anyone on southbound train No. 270, according to Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn.

A Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority bus will provide substitute service to the passengers.

Train No. 276, which also serves Gilroy, will stop at the Tamien station and passengers will also complete their trip on a VTA bus.

No other trains are expected to be impacted.
