Man arrested for sexually assaulting Gilroy teen

Morgan Hill police have arrested a 36-year-old San Jose man for sexually assaulting a Gilroy teenager.

Jason Mendoza was arrested on December 1st in a McDonalds parking lot and charged with committing sex acts on a child and committing a crime while released on bail for other charges.

Police say on November 30th, 2009, a Gilroy High School counselor reported a possible sexual assault to police. Further investigation revealed that the victim had known Mendoza for a few years and at some point agreed to go with him to his apartment. While at the apartment, the suspect gave him alcoholic drinks and sexually assaulted him.

Mendoza was booked into the Santa Clara County jail.
