Rumors say Harbaugh may meet with Notre Dame

PALO ALTO, CA

The buzz on Harbaugh

I hate to say it, but he's a perfect fit for them. He's young, has a proven track record turning two programs around -- San Diego and Stanford -- can recruit, and has that swagger.

Harbaugh is in Green Bay on Monday, which seems convenient, to watch his brother John and his Ravens play the Packers. There he was asked if he has interviewed with Notre Dame.

"I haven't talked to anybody from Notre Dame. I haven't talked to anybody from Notre Dame about a meeting. I don't talk about other jobs, I don't' talk about other opportunities. I'm the head coach at Stanford University. I love Stanford and God willing, I'll be back at Stanford," said Harbaugh.

... that was vague.

Go Toby!

Stanford running back Toby Gerhart is a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, handed out Saturday in New York.

Gerhart ran for a school record 1,736 yards and 26 touchdowns this season and if the award is given to the player who meant the most to his team's success, Gerhart should be your winner.

Jim Plunkett was the only Stanford player to win a Heisman back in 1970.

No Luck

Freshman quarterback Andrew Luck had surgery on a finger on his right hand and will miss two to three weeks of practice leading up to the Sun Bowl.

Luck hurt his finger in the 4th quarter of the Notre Dame game.

Fifth year senior Tavita Pritchard will probably start in the Sun Bowl.
