Wrong pipe caused home explosion

The wrong type of pipe, used to repair a gas leak, is blamed for causing a deadly explosion last Christmas Eve at a home near Sacramento.

That is according to federal investigators who have just released their findings.

PG&E acknowledges that one of its workers accidentally installed the incorrect pipe in 2006.

The blast killed one person, severely burned two others, and leveled a home in Rancho Cordova.

PG&E says that since the explosion, the company has made safety changes to its repair procedures.
