Law could require reporting crimes against minors

January 8, 2010 5:41:38 PM PST
The gang rape of a 16-year-old Richmond High School girl last October has led to a new proposal in the state Legislature.

The new law would require witnesses of a violent or sexual crime against someone 18-years-old or younger to notify police.

Current law only requires such notification if the victim is 14-years-old or younger.
