LA council to revisit medical marijuana ordinance

LOS ANGELES

Council members hammered out some guidelines over the past couple of months for the ordinance that included capping the number of dispensaries at 70. They plan to review the ordinance again on Wednesday. One of the remaining issues is how far a dispensary should be from schools, homes and public gathering spots.

It was unclear if the council would take a vote.

City officials are trying to come up with an ordinance that addresses medicinal marijuana and figure out if the ordinance is permissible under state law. Hundreds of pot dispensaries have opened their doors in Los Angeles over the past couple of years.
