The "Job Hunters' Boot Camp" will feature a number of speakers, including Speier, local CEOs, human resource directors and employment specialists, according to Speier's office.
One-on-one consultations will be offered on how to craft a better resume and improve interviewing skills.
"Anyone who has ever been out of work knows that looking for a job can be the hardest job you'll ever have...40 percent of the unemployed have been out of work for more than two years," Speier said in a statement.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 28 at the San Mateo County Events Center, 1346 Saratoga Drive, San Mateo.
