Monday morning's downpour did not stop more than 270 volunteers from planting the first-ever garden for school children at the Martin Luther King Jr. Academy in Marin City.

The school is in one of the most underserved communities in Marin County.

The three year project is being led by music icon Carlos Santana's non-profit, the Milagro Foundation. It is designed to make fresh food accessible to children, while teaching them about good nutrition and good health.

The project will also launch the first ever farmers' market in Marin City.
