In our audience: Oakland Symphony Chorus

About the Oakland Symphony Chorus:
After a yearlong retrospective and 50th Anniversary year celebration, the Oakland Symphony Chorus is turning its focus to new ideas and opportunities to enrich the Bay Area's Choral Music Experience. We will continue to embrace the richness of collaboration with our own Oakland East Bay Symphony and embark on some new ventures reaching into new venues and expanding our involvement in the educational enrichment of our many talented young people.

The 120-singer strong Oakland Symphony Chorus has been recognized as one of the East Bay's finest choirs and a premier resource for continuing education in the choral arts. Under the direction of Dr. Lynne Morrow, OSC has expanded its repertoire from the classical 'warhorses' to modern pieces including the premier of a new work commissioned for OSC for the 50th Anniversary celebration. This new season finds OSC collaborating several times with the Oakland East Bay Symphony culminating in two performances of Beethoven's 9th Symphony in May. The season includes a workshop and recital of the Bach B minor Mass at the Christ the Light Cathedral in Oakland. This workshop will be open to the public on a limited basis and will afford an opportunity to engage in some in-depth study of this magnificent work.
