The song "You're So Vain" has been a mystery for 38 years.

Carly Simon singing her hit song from the 70's. For decades, people wondered who she was singing about. Speculation centered on James Taylor and Warren Beatty. Mick Jagger and Cat Stevens were also thought to be the mystery man, but it is someone else.

Carly Simon has revealed the identity in a remake on her latest album, where she whispers the name "David" backward.

David refers to billionaire and openly gay record producer David Geffen.

Apparently Carly Simon was angry at Geffen for promoting Joni Mitchell, instead of her.
