Sharks players return with 4 golds, silver

SAN JOSE, CA

There is no place like home for professional athletes, especially when you return with a gold medal from the Winter Olympics.

"Yeah, those are the moments when you really cherish your nationality and where you come from. It brought the country together. It was unbelievable," says gold medalist Patrick Marleau.

"Haven't been able to wipe the smile off my face in the last 48 hours. I think the rest of the guys are the same. Well, I'm, not sire about Pav," says gold medalist Joe Thornton.

Well, everyone but Joe Pavelski who won a silver with team USA.

"It isn't bad, but it's not great either. I was in Canada and it meant so much to the hockey world. To be a part of it was awesome," says Pavelski.

One goal sent the game to overtime, the next goal was the difference in silver and gold.

"In a tournament like that with those stakes, anything can happen. You have to be prepared for anything, not to say we weren't disappointed or nervous when that goal went in," says gold medalist Dany Heatley.

Dan Boyle now owns a Stanley Cup and a gold medal.

"It's been a great career for me especially where I came from. I need one more cup though and we all know what we need to do here, but yea it was quite an accomplishment," says Boyle.
