3.2-magnitude earthquake strikes South Bay

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.2 struck Wednesday afternoon in Santa Clara County.

The earthquake occurred at 12:36 p.m. and had a depth of three miles.

It was centered about four miles northeast of Alum Rock, seven miles east-southeast of Milpitas and eight miles northeast of San Jose City Hall, according to the USGS.
