SFPD kicks off pedestrian safety program

Police say there have been three pedestrian fatalities in the city so far this year, and they chose to start the program in Chinatown, because of all the foot traffic in the neighborhood.

San Francisco police kicked off their pedestrian safety program in Chinatown. Its primary goal is to educate both walkers and drivers about right-of-way and jay-walking laws.

Police say there have been three pedestrian fatalities in the city so far this year, and they chose to start the program in Chinatown, because of all the foot traffic in the neighborhood.

The outreach program moves to other parts of the city in the next few months.
