Two Bay area neighborhoods are getting a splash of color thanks to a variety of murals.

Local groups collaborated to produce a spray-painted mural along Peralta Avenue in West Oakland. The comic-style art is the work of Mark Bode, who trained at San Francisco's Renaissance School.

He says he's already scouting out his next urban canvas.

The other one is called "Windows in the Tenderloin." Each panel was inspired by the people, events and discoveries that happened during the making of the mural.

More than 250 people from the neighborhood are represented in the mural.
