Officers shoot man who fired shotgun at cop cars

OAKLAND, CA

The suspect, Sacramento resident Nathaniel Reddick, went to the Police Department at about 11:20 p.m. and shot into several police cars with a shotgun, according to Oakland police spokesman Jeff Thomason.

Officers confronted Reddick and told him to drop the shotgun. Instead he pointed the gun at the officers, at which point they fired at Reddick, Thomason said.

Reddick was taken to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to survive, according to Thomason.
