Nordic Track troubles frustrate SF man

SAN FRANCISCO

/*Nordic Track*/ is one of the best known names in home exercise equipment. So our consumer was shocked when he ran into problems not just with the equipment, but the company standing behind it.

Jim has been using his Nordic Track for 15 years, so when it wore out, he bought another.

"I sent away for it $756.95, about $800 and when it came it was missing a part. It was designed differently; it is not designed like this."

And that, Jim says, was just the beginning.

"I ordered this machine on July 20, 2009," he said.

Jim has kept all his correspondence, which shows countless problems, issues and unresolved complaints.

"It wasn't until November when the guy came to repair it and it still didn't work," he said.

Frustrated, Jim asked for a refund, which was denied, so he contacted /*7 On Your Side*/. We suggested Jim to challenge the payment with his credit card company.

A short time later, Nordic Track agreed to a refund just as the /*American Express*/ was ruling in Jim's favor.

"I did get my money back. I want to thank you again, thank you very much. Do not buy anything big without putting it on your credit card," he said.

Jim is going to have his old Nordic Track fixed.

7 On Your Side thanks Nordic Track and American Express for getting on top of this.
