Tamalpais High students still stuck in Europe

MILL VALLEY, CA

Countless people from around the Bay Area are still trying to figure out how to get home from Europe.

They include more than 50 students from Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley. Half are French students scheduled to fly home from Paris on Thursday. A separate group of theater students are in London and still don't know when they'll return.

In the meantime, the teens are doing some extra sight-seeing and trying to stay in touch with friends and family back home.

"Though Facebook and Twitter, and emailing, phones obviously -- students are in regular communication. I think there's a level of jealously with some of the students here. They've returned from there break to take STAR testing and their friends are over in London and in Paris," said Tamalpais High School principal Tom Drescher.

Also, about 70 orchestra and band students from Los Gatos High School are flying back from Germany. They are due to arrive at SFO later on Tuesday night. They performed inside the Munich airport while they waited for their flight home.
