Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Fresh Barilla spaghetti -- $1.70
  • 3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil -- $0.53
  • 1 tin flat Anchovies (Portugal) -- $1.48
  • 4 Cloves of Fresh Garlic, minced -- $0.12
  • ½ teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes -- $0.03
  • 20 Pitted Kalamata Greek Olives, pitted -- $1.20
  • 3 tablespoons of Capers -- $0.88
  • 3 Cups Fresh Cherry Tomatoes (cut in half) -- $1.99
  • 3/4 cup torn fresh basil -- $1.85
  • Pinch of Sea Salt -- $0.05
Costs:

Preparation:
  1. Boil big pot of salted water and cook pasta according to directions.

  2. Place sauté pan on stove with olive oil, add garlic, red pepper flakes, let it all get light brown.

  3. Add chopped anchovies, capers and olives. Sauté for 2 minutes.

  4. Add halved cherry tomatoes and cook 5 minutes with lid on.

  5. Add chopped basil and cook until tomatoes are soft. Add pinch of salt. Drain pasta and add to pan of sauce. Mix thoroughly and enjoy!
