The hikers called the East Bay Regional Parks Department on their cell phone at about 8:20 p.m. and said they had gotten lost just before sundown, the CHP reported.
A CHP helicopter was dispatched to the park and located the women using GPS coordinates and their cell phone light, according to the CHP.
The helicopter illuminated both women and directed East Bay Regional Park rangers to the hikers' location. The women were found uninjured and taken home, the CHP reported.
