United and Continental Airlines said on Tuesday their $3 billion merger won't mean higher fares for vacationers.

Instead, the two airlines are counting on business travelers to make this merger pay off.

The airlines said their combined network of flights will make it easier for frequent business travelers to find all the routes they need.

They expect corporations will pay top-dollar for last minute seats and bring an extra $900 million per year in revenue, so they say vacationers can relax.
