Job advice for new graduates

Have your kids just graduated into a recession? The outlook isn't as bleak as you might think!

Some questions to keep in mind when job seeking:
  • What did the current BLS report for April tell us?

  • The current BLS report indicates that the labor market is continuing its slow and steady improvement-and that job seekers are beginning to feel hopeful (that's why although jobs were created, the unemployment rate went up).

  • What does this mean for recent graduates? Job availability and salary?

  • The job market is kind of weak for new grads right now, but Charles can discuss what degrees are highest-earning, and which are lowest-earning. What it means for new grads is that they need to take a long view of their career (and utilize "stepping-stone" jobs, as well as pursue their own, non-job-related projects as "resumé builders").
