Bay Area sees rise in home values in Q1

Home values rose in three out of five U.S. markets during the first quarter of 2010.

The Bay Area saw some of the biggest gains according to new numbers from the National Association of Realtors.

Home prices rose 29 percent in the San Francisco-Oakland-Fremont metro area and 24 percent in San Jose, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara.

However, the national median price of a home did decrease 0.7 percent between the first quarter of last year and this year.
