Those traveling to Lake Mendocino for the Memorial Day weekend will find something they have not seen in a few years -- water, and lots of it.

There is so much water it is blocking access to picnic and camping sites. A boat ramp is underwater and trees are submerged creating a hazard for boaters.

Some of the trees may not survive all this water because drought-tolerant species were planted and they do not do well under water.
