Plane makes emergency landing in Hayward

HAYWARD, CA

The single-engine North American T-28A Trojan was unable to fully extend the right main landing gear while approaching Hayward and landed with the gear retracted at about 1 p.m., FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.

The plane veered off the runway and onto the taxiway, causing minor damage to the aircraft, according to Gregor.

Neither of the two people onboard the plane were injured, he said.

The FAA is investigating the incident.
